My Colorful Experience of PACMAN vs. Marquez

photo grabbed from philboxing

Deprived of a live coverage, as my wife did not consent to paying a pay per view for this bout, I was hooked on the net following a blow by blow account from www.philboxing.com and www.inquirer.net. Good thing that I am off from work today so I have the luxury of making it to the fight via the net.

I never have imagined that I would find this set up as colorful as a live coverage on the television. Every word spoken of in the write ups made my brain work and create pictures of how the fight had been, round after round, until the reading of the scorecards.

I am happy and proud that a fellow Filipino won this bout. Pacquiao did not only earn belts here, but he had engraved his name in the annals of boxing history as the first Asian to have held three championship belts and being a champion in three divisions. Go Pinoy as most of the Filipinos around the world have shouted due to this victory.

Similar to the previous fights of Pacquiao, the whole of Philippines is glued to the television. As a result, police stations recorded zero crime rate, military forces and the reds are having a ceasefire, and political foes have their own version of ceasefire too. Some political foes were even seen watching the fight side by side.

After the fight and with Pacquiao winning, i could just imagine how loud the celebrations in in the different towns and cities all over the Philippines. Malacanang sending congratulatory messages and in return Pacquiao calling for unity is a common scene. Whether or not this latest triumph of Pacquiao could overshadow the ZTE scandal and the spate of rallies that have already been started by different sectors.

Will the ZTE and Lozada's testimony be set aside by this Pacquiao triumph. Let us just observe in the days to come.
